Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an entry-level ITS and Traffic Engineer to join our Houston ITS/Traffic Team. The role involves designing ITS/Traffic plans, signals, illumination, signing, and related studies, under supervision.

The position supports investigations, construction reviews, and report preparation. A ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Electrical Engineering is preferred; E.I. or E.I.T. is a plus. Training and mentorship opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• Completion of ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation (preferred).
• Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
• Capability to develop technical writings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans and drawings including preliminary layout and final drawings detailing ITS/Traffic design.
• Organize and conduct engineering investigations and planning work with well-defined scope.
• Provide engineering services during construction by reviewing shop drawings and preparing records.
