Job summary

North-Star-Health is seeking an IT Support Technician I to provide first-line technical support to employees. You will assist with hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues while growing within the IT department.

The role covers deskside, remote, and inventory activities, including onboarding/offboarding and basic security compliance. This entry-level position emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and adherence to HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Technical support experience preferred but not required.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Fundamentals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for basic IT support requests.
• Respond to tickets, phone calls, emails, and walk-up requests.
• Assist with password resets and account issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
• Install and configure computer hardware and accessories.
• Provide basic support for Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive).
• Assist with mobile device setup and troubleshooting.
• Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Travel between locations for onsite support as needed.
• Set up new desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and phones.
• Assist with workstation moves and changes.
• Maintain conference room technology and meeting equipment.
• Inventory, track, and deploy IT equipment; manage assets.
• Support onboarding and offboarding activities; secure PHI handling.
