Job summary

Applied Systems is seeking an Associate Instructional Designer to create and ship customer-facing eLearning content within Applied University. You’ll own courses end-to-end—from storyboarding to publishing—while mentoring under senior designers and growing in three areas: products, insurance, and adult learning practices.

You will collaborate with experienced designers, product managers, and subject matter experts, taking ownership of projects with mentorship and concrete responsibilities from

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of instructional design experience or equivalent (internships, coursework, portfolio projects counted)
• Hands-on experience with at least one authoring tool: Articulate Storyline 360 required
• Comfort with Zoom, Slack, Confluence, Jira, and MS Office
• Grounding in instructional design for adult learners from analysis through design, build, and evaluation
• Strong writing and editing skills to make dense material clear
• Confident presentation and facilitation, capable of teaching in group settings
• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, visual design, or related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Design and build engaging digital learning: eLearning courses, video, animation, simulations, assessments, and learning games
• Use AI tools to research and convert source material into project roadmaps and storyboards
• Grow subject matter expertise in Applied Systems products and the insurance industry
• Analyze learner needs and determine effective teaching approaches
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, product managers, and training teams to release courseware
• Apply course development standards to ensure consistent quality across releases
• Contribute to planning discussions shaping strategic direction of customer training
• Coordinate with LMS Administrator to publish catalogs, tracks, and plans
