Job summary

Viridien is seeking a motivated Junior HPC Data Center Linux IT Specialist to join our IT team. The role supports Linux systems, storage platforms, and HPC infrastructure while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting of Linux systems, storage, and SLURM environments, learning automation, and contributing to documentation and incident response in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of Linux administration, IT support, or related experience.
• Basic Linux command-line knowledge.
• Understanding of hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
• Basic scripting knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux systems.
• Support routing operational tasks, monitoring, and health checks.
• Respond to support tickets and assist with issue resolution.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in change management processes.
• Assist with patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Support storage, backup and data management activities.
• Learn and assist with automation and scripting.
• Support SLURM environments and HPC users.
• Follow security policies, ITIL fundamentals, and operational standards.
