Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from accredited college or university (for individuals certified after January 23, 2001)
• Valid Texas school librarian certification or endorsement
• Two years of classroom teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Operates the library/media center and supports student learning.
• Provides lessons in library and information-literacy skills and digital citizenship.
• Instructs students in use of print and non-print resources and research techniques.
• Develops curriculum-integrated, technology-rich literacy experiences for all students.
• Engages students through library activities, clubs, and reading incentives.
• Collaborates with teachers to create lessons and materials aligned with TEKS and ISTE standards.
• Promotes instructional technology to enhance learning and fosters a creative library environment.
• Supports teachers with appropriate materials and professional development as needed.
• Supervises student aides and volunteers and participates in district activities.
