Qualifications

• Must complete Pennsylvania Coaching Education Requirements.
• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, head coach, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental sports skills and game strategies.
• Instruct players on the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.
• Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.
• Act as an appropriate role model.
• Emphasize good sportsmanship and appropriate sports participant behaviors.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics for high school coaches.
• Model appropriate behavior towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Provide a supportive environment during practices and games.
• Keep track of athletic equipment and uniforms issued to your team.
• Follow district transportation policies.
• Prepare facilities for all home games.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the head coach and Activities Director.
