Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Complete and submit RE-1 Valley Schools online application with 3 letters of reference.
• Willing to drive to away games, camps, scrimmages.
• Knowledgeable in basketball techniques and strategies.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to follow directions from the athletic director.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective communication with students, parents, staff and community.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to manage time and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages participation.
• Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule for individual and team development.
• Works with Athletic Director to schedule facilities for practices and competitions.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment, and techniques.
• Observes players to determine needs for improvement.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains decorum and proper supervision of athletes.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility.
• Follows procedures for athlete injuries and safety.
• Conferences with parents/guardians regarding performance.
• Communicates with booster clubs and community groups to promote the sport.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and uniform records.
• Develops awards policy with Athletic Director and reports winners.
• Participates in events like fundraising, parents' night, and pep rallies.
