Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools Clark Montessori HS in Cincinnati, Ohio seeks a part-time Junior High Cheer Coach. The role oversees tryouts, practices, and games, and develops a comprehensive training program for student-athletes.

The coach will motivate students, teach cheer skills and sportsmanship, ensure safety, and uphold district policies. Certification and background checks are required; prior coaching at high school/college levels is preferred.

Qualifications

• Fundraising, cheer rules knowledge and passion to inspire student-athletes.
• Coaching experience at HS/college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Junior High Cheer Team including tryouts, practices, and games.
• Develop and execute an effective training program.
• Motivate and mentor student-athletes on and off the Court/Field.
• Instruct and guide student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training.
• Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
• Foster teamwork, discipline, respect, sportsmanship, and skills development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
• Cooperate with School Athletic Director and District Athletic Department.
• Meet all requirements mandated by the District Board of Education, OHSAA, and ODE.
• Check academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes.
• Follow District policies.
• Model timeliness and positive conduct.
• Maintain suitable sideline conduct; avoid inappropriate language.
• Accept and profit from constructive criticism.
• Be aware of and implement admin policies.
• Provide in-season and out-of-season training guidance to athletes.
• Participate in clinics and school events.
• Assist in ensuring team is well-prepared for opponents.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
