Job summary

Arlington Independent School District's Shackelford Jr High School is seeking an Athletic Coach/Teacher to provide instruction and coach students in the assigned sport, contributing to the education program and growth of student athletes.

The role requires a valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility for alternative certification, coaching experience, knowledge of UIL rules, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills to support athletic programs and student success.

Qualifications

Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligible for alternative certification.
Experience as a coach or participant in sport.
Knowledge of UIL rules.
Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in sport assigned.
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions.
Plan instructional goals with school staff and evaluate athletic abilities.
Instruct, advise, and enforce NCAA/UIL-related academic requirements and eligibility.
Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate with athletic staff on trips and events.
