Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility for alternative certification.
• Experience as a coach or participant in sport.
• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of UIL rules.
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach students to develop skills in the assigned sport.
• Manage athletic activities, contests, and practices to promote growth and sportsmanship.
• Plan instructional goals with other staff to support student athletes.
• Establish performance criteria and evaluate athletic abilities regularly.
• Protect student athletes and equipment; ensure eligibility for extracurriculars.
• Schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements with the athletic director.
• Supervise assistant coaches and student athletic assistants.
• Attend practices, games, and related events; participate in meetings outside contracted hours.
