Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a Communications Field Tech I to collect field data and support facilities records updates. The role involves measuring, mapping, field photography, inventory, staking and preparing data for design documents in a utility environment.

The incumbent will learn and apply CAD drafting tools, GIS concepts and field procedures while working under senior technical staff to meet project timelines with accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in design or line construction in a utility environment.
• Familiar with GIS systems and basic data structures.
• Well organized in actions and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data for facilities records and update design documents.
• Perform data collection, measurement, mapping, photography, inventory, staking in the field.
• Work with senior staff as a design/staking assistant to learn processes.
• Record data with standard symbols and ensure accuracy for office use.
