Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a first-level Field Technician to collect facilities data, assist in design tasks, and support field operations. The role involves outdoor work, data gathering, and basic CAD/GIS tasks, with potential training toward CAD/design positions.

Qualifications

• Familiar with MS Office Suite and CAD drafting systems.
• Experience in design or line construction in a utility environment.
• Familiar with GIS and basic data structures preferred.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Able to work in an outside environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data for facilities records and design documents.
• Assist senior technical staff in field and staking tasks.
• Adhere to Pike Engineering core values and safety practices.
• Record measurements and data accurately with proper standards.
• Learn and apply tools such as hand-held data collectors, GPS, cameras.
• Meet production targets and project milestones.
• Overnight travel may be required.
