Job summary

Barrios Technology is seeking a Software Developer I to help build internal infrastructure and software for NASA contracts. You will design, build, test, and maintain applications using languages such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript, and work with relational databases in Linux environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or anticipated by Dec 2026) with 0–5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in more than one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, PHP).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
• Knowledge of database design and SQL with a relational database (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server).
• Familiarity with Git and writing unit tests.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a distributed team across time zones.
• Detail-oriented with problem solving and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services for internal use and contracts.
• Write clean, efficient code in Python, PHP, C++, Java, C#, or JavaScript as needed.
• Develop backend logic and contribute to frontend UI/UX usability.
• Design and maintain relational database schemas and write SQL queries.
• Build automation scripts to streamline workflows and data processing.
• Containerize and deploy using Docker; support cloud or on-prem hosting.
• Follow SDLC practices with unit tests and code reviews in Git.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, IT, and other engineers on requirements.
