Job summary

Agate Software is hiring a Software Developer I to help extend and tailor our configurable grant-management platform for real-world client use cases. You'll work in a fast-paced, early-career role designed for high-potential builders, with opportunities to own features, collaborate in Agile teams, and grow toward full-stack responsibilities as you ramp up.

Onsite in Arizona with a hybrid option after 90 days, you’ll contribute from day one on data-driven UI and SQL tasks, expanding your skills

Qualifications

• Strong in SQL and front-end fundamentals
• Able to interpret business requirements and translate them into solutions
• Proactive, ownership-minded, and capable of working in ambiguity
• Able to participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance data-driven features using SQL and front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JS)
• Translate business requirements into clear, maintainable solutions
• Implement low-complexity features and grow ownership over time
• Debug and troubleshoot by analyzing data, requirements, and system behavior
• Contribute to extending Agate’s configurable platform for client-specific use cases
• Participate in Agile workflows including standups, sprints, and retrospectives
• Engage in code reviews as contributor and reviewer
• Write clean, readable code aligned with team standards
• Document work clearly and communicate progress, blockers, and risks proactively
• Raise concerns when requirements are unclear or incomplete and help drive clarity
