Job summary

THG is seeking a Junior Frontend Engineer & Technology Support in New York for a hybrid role. You will help build frontend applications with JavaScript frameworks and provide onsite tech support to staff at our New York office.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on headless ecommerce projects, improve performance and accessibility, and assist with IT tasks including Microsoft 365 and device management. A hands-on, versatile tech background is ideal.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in desktop support or on-site technology support.
• Experience building frontend applications using JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

You'll contribute to modern headless ecommerce applications using JavaScript and work closely with senior engineers while also providing onsite technology support to employees at our New York office.

As Junior Frontend Engineer & Technology Support, you'll:

Frontend Engineering

• Build and maintain frontend applications using JavaScript/ES6+ and frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar.


• Contribute to fast, scalable, secure, and accessible headless ecommerce experiences.


• Work with senior engineers to understand system architecture, APIs, data structures, and how different systems communicate.


• Contribute to frontend performance, accessibility, security, and observability.


• Write clean, maintainable code and follow development standards and best practices.


• Participate in code reviews and pair programming.


• Work with UX, CRO, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements.


• Develop your knowledge of headless ecommerce, SSG, APIs, and GraphQL.


• Help create intuitive, inclusive user experiences.


• Stay curious about new technologies, share ideas, and continue developing your technical skills.

Technology & IT Support

• Provide hands-on onsite technology support to employees.


• Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, applications, and operating systems.


• Support Dell/Windows and macOS environments.


• Support Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.


• Assist with device enrollment, configuration, replacements, onboarding, and offboarding.


• Provide support for Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Okta


• Troubleshoot authentication issues and elevate more complex issues


• Provide basic Wi-Fi and network troubleshooting.


• Support meeting rooms, AV, video conferencing, and workplace technology.


• Assist employees with workplace technologies, including corporate printing.


• Maintain technical documentation and asset records.


• Provide excellent employee onboarding/offboarding support for tech


• Work closely with global Technology teams, including colleagues in the UK.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

• 3-4 years of experience in desktop support, end-user IT, service desk, or onsite technology support.


• Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience across laptops, desktops, applications, and peripherals.


• Experience supporting Dell/Windows and macOS.


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365.


• Experience or exposure to Entra ID and Intune.


• Experience supporting Okta or a similar authentication platform.


• Basic networking knowledge, including Wi-Fi and TCP/IP.


• Experience with meeting rooms, AV, video conferencing, device management, and onboarding/offboarding.


• Strong communication and customer service skills.
