Job summary

EKI Environment & Water, Inc. seeks a Junior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain web apps, dashboards, and DSTs. You will work with React/Next.js, Vue.js, and data visualization tools to translate complex environmental data into accessible digital experiences.

Collaboration with project teams, data scientists, and IT staff will be essential as you implement secure practices, CI/CD, and cloud deployments on AWS/Azure. Training and growth opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Three+ years front-end development experience required; five+ preferred.
• Experience in consulting/client-facing environments is a plus.
• CI/CD tools experience: GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform; cloud deployment workflows.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and data visualization libraries.
• Secure development practices and code-review processes are expected.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive front-end interfaces with React/Next.js and Vue.js.
• Build interactive data dashboards and DSTs; integrate with R Shiny, Power BI, ArcGIS Online.
• Translate designs into cross-browser experiences; develop reusable components.
• Integrate apps with REST APIs and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Contribute to GitHub-based development standards and onboarding docs.
• Provide training and support on Git/GitHub workflows and PRs.
• Support secure development practices including secret management and RBAC.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation; assist with scoping and budgeting.
