Job summary

Allison Transmission is hiring for an entry-level finance/accounting role in the Washington, DC area. You will perform monthly and quarterly closes, prepare journal entries, and analyze financial data for accuracy and forecasting.

Responsibilities include generating reports for management, completing reconciliations, and supporting the annual budget and rolling forecast. Strong Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook skills and effective communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business with accounting or finance major or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting tasks.
• Prepare month-end journal entries.
• Analyze financial data to assess accuracy and completeness.
• Generate and interpret financial reports for management.
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Review financial results and investigate variances to forecast.
• Assist in annual budget, strategic plan, and rolling forecast preparation.
