Job summary

Bowman in Plano, TX is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator I to join our field team. This entry-level role focuses on operating survey instruments and supporting boundary, topography, and ALTA surveys.

You will perform setups, measurements, and calculations outdoors in varying conditions, travel as needed, and benefit from comprehensive health, retirement, and development programs Bowman provides.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate experience considered.
• College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying.
• Entry level position; no prior experience required; any survey or construction related experience is a plus.
• Familiar with field procedures for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
• Travel and overtime required.
• Valid US driver’s license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate survey equipment including total-station, data collector, level, and GPS.
• Perform survey calculations.
• Conduct stakeouts and locations surveys using applicable equipment.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep work vehicle stocked with supplies.
• Perform quality checks and calibration of equipment.
