Job summary

Bowman Consulting is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator II to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. You will operate survey equipment, perform surveys, and support the field crew on boundary, topography, ALTA, and right-of-way projects for public and private clients.

The role requires setting up and operating total-station, GPS, data-collector, and level instruments, performing calculations, and ensuring safety and quality on site. Travel and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Coursework in mathematics and surveying preferred.
• 3+ years of survey or construction-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey work under supervision following established procedures.
• Set up and operate survey equipment (Total Station, GPS, data collector).
• Perform survey calculations and stakeout surveys.
• Maintain and service survey equipment and vehicles.
• Assist field supervisor with daily crew workload.
