Job summary

FiberTel, LLC, a Utah-based utility telecom contractor and subsidiary of Quanta Services, is seeking a Junior Estimator in Sacramento, CA to assist with cost estimates and bid proposals for Outside Plant fiber optic projects.

You will work with senior estimators, project managers, and field staff to analyze drawings, gather quantities, and track labor and materials, contributing to accurate budgets and competitive bids.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; related degrees preferred.
• 0-3 years estimating/construction experience in telecom, utilities, or related industry.
• Familiarity with construction plans, specs, and documents preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for OSP fiber optic projects.
• Review drawings, specs, permits, and project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost tracking.
• Support bid packages, proposals, and subcontractor solicitations.
• Obtain pricing from suppliers and vendors.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks.
• Collaborate with teams to develop accurate estimates.
• Maintain bid files and databases.
