Job summary

Kiely Family of Companies in Eatontown, NJ, is seeking an Estimator to bid cost estimates for utility projects in the gas, water, and sewer sectors and to manage these projects through construction. You will review bid documents, produce timely and accurate estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid, and work with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to define scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

A college degree in Engineering or Business Administration, five years in heavy civil construction, strong

Qualifications

• College degree in Engineering or Business Administration required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in heavy civil construction is preferred.
• Strong MS Excel skills and literacy with estimating software.
• Knowledge of the utility infrastructure industry is essential.
• Understanding of utility expansion projects from feasibility to operations.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents and note requirements for bids.
• Produce timely and accurate estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and third-party providers.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and communications plans.
• Generate RFIs for project clarification or requirements.
• Prepare bid proposals and SOWs for submittal.
• Expedite subcontractor agreements and maintain project records.
• Provide timely material take-offs and estimates via Excel and databases.
• Set priorities according to workload and project size.
