Job summary

T and D Communications is seeking a Junior Estimator for our Southern California office in Corona. You will assist with quantity takeoffs, review plans, and gather pricing from vendors, working under supervision to prepare preliminary estimates.

Ideal candidates have at least a 2-year degree, comfort with Excel, and eagerness to learn estimating systems while meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail when reviewing plans, quantities, pricing, and revisions.
• Ability to read basic construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
• Clear communication and reliable follow-through.
• Willingness to learn estimating software and company processes.
• Preferred: Entry-level construction or estimating experience, including internships.
• Preferred: Familiarity with takeoff or estimating platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs and basic cost calculations.
• Review plans, drawings, bid documents, and specifications.
• Collect and organize vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare preliminary estimates under supervision.
• Support senior estimators with bids and documentation.
• Maintain organized project files, pricing, and estimate records.
• Enter data and update estimates as needed.
• Office-based with occasional site visits.
• Fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
