Job summary

JRM Construction seeks a Project Estimator to drive accurate cost estimates for CM and GC bids in Southern California. You will prepare detailed takeoffs, analyze design documents, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive, complete bids.

Ideal candidates hold a four-year degree or equivalent estimating experience, with strong math, planning, and communication skills to meet tight bid deadlines and maintain client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or 3+ years in estimating, purchasing, or quantity surveying.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specs.
• Ability to formulate scope with minimal design direction.
• Ability to work autonomously on full bid processes.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage the entire bid process (CM and GC) and prepare detailed bid packages.
• Prepare estimates for Conceptual through Construction Documents design stages.
• Create quantity take-offs and estimate costs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and prepare bid forms and scopes of work.
• Review drawings to ensure accurate pricing and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with architects, subs, and suppliers to finalize estimates and cost reductions.
