Job summary

Datum Commercial Contracting, LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Jr. Estimator to support the estimating team. The role involves contacting subcontractors for quotes, verifying qualifications, and maintaining bid records using Procore.

You will coordinate bid materials, update directories, and assist in bid preparation under the guidance of a Senior Estimator. You should have at least a high school diploma, with a relevant degree a strong plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a strong plus
• Proven ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and documentation
• Self-starter who can work independently and in a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Familiarity with construction software (Procore, PlanSwift, ConstructConnect, PlanHub) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist estimating team in locating and contacting subcontractors for quotes
• Verify qualifications and gather information for bids
• Maintain/update estimate log and subcontractor/vendors directory
• Track bid statuses in Procore
• Review plans, specs, and addenda
• Assist in bid preparation and cost proposals
• Distribute ITBs and follow up with subcontractors
• Maintain project files, addenda, and drawings
• Keep bid calendar and CRM up to date
• Attend pre-bid/site meetings and log minutes
