Job summary

Cash Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Junior Estimator for an onsite role at our Austin, TX home office. You will develop complete estimates with input from Estimating Leadership, perform quantity takeoffs, and analyze subcontractor costs while supporting bid management.

The ideal candidate has civil construction estimating experience, knowledge of road work and utilities, and is comfortable with risk analysis and design drawings. Local Texas context is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience with 3+ years of estimating civil construction projects
• 6+ years of experience in lieu of education
• Demonstrated knowledge of heavy civil construction: earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, and street/highway construction

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete quantity take-offs
• Identify project scope for self-perform and subcontracted work
• Interpret project documents to prepare estimates, general conditions, and bid clarifications
• Inform preconstruction staff of project requirements and owner directives
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Develop value engineering solutions to meet client budgets
• Identify and qualify subcontractors
• Attend preconstruction meetings with design team and client
• Prepare project clarifications and bid assumptions for submission to owner
• Investigate local market conditions and their impact on costs
• Plan, organize, and coordinate effectively
• Establish timelines and goals for estimate submissions
• Represent company vision when presenting to potential clients
• Ensure quality of services meets project requirements
• Provide risk and cost comparison analysis on estimates
• Utilize Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 for scheduling
