Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in construction, estimating, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, or willingness to learn.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to learn quantity takeoff and estimating software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and documents to understand project scope.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related systems.
• Identify material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
• Assist in identifying scope gaps, discrepancies, and estimating risks.
• Develop understanding of mechanical construction means, methods, and standards.
• Gather, compare, and verify vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Assist in developing preliminary project cost estimates.
• Maintain estimating databases and pricing information.
• Track labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations for completeness and competitiveness.
