Job summary

APTIM seeks a junior Environmental Scientist to support stormwater compliance in the Atlanta, GA area and contribute to various environmental programs. The role involves field sampling, data collection, equipment calibration, and preparing clear inspection reports for multiple client sites.

The candidate should hold a science degree, be willing to travel, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Overtime and fieldwork on weather-related schedules are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering required.
• 1–2 years of related work experience, or entry level with degree.
• Ability to travel to client facilities for stormwater work.
• Experience with stormwater inspection/sampling is desirable.
• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collect field environmental samples and prepare them for lab analysis.
• Calibrate and operate field instruments.
• Review permit documents (NPDES, SWPPP, SPCC) to guide work.
• Plan and schedule field activities across multiple sites.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records.
• Communicate with clients to obtain site access and approvals.
