Job summary

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Permitting & Compliance Engineer in Houston to join a collaborative team. This role leads and supports multimedia environmental compliance projects, including technical reports, permit applications, and site inspections, with opportunities to work cross-functionally with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• 0-2 years of work-related experience.
• FE/EIT/ASP or other professional certification a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel; experience with air modeling software a plus.
• Reliable transportation to access remote job sites and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permits and compliance programs for multiple environmental media (air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, SPCC, etc.).
• Support air projects: emissions calculations, permit prep, Title V, GHG, reporting, modeling.
• Assist with audits, gap assessments, inspections, program reviews.
• Develop and manage monitoring and contingency plans (SPCC, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste plans).
• Prepare technical documents: reports, permits, plans, programs.
• Conduct field support at client sites: inspections, sampling, on-call support.
• Perform other field and office duties as needed.
