Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is seeking a Microbiologist I in Cinnaminson, NJ. The role focuses on preparing and analyzing environmental samples by direct microscopy, with on-the-job training provided.

No prior lab experience is required; the position offers full-time hours, standard weekdays, and a comprehensive benefits package. Training will cover all routine microbiology practices and procedures to develop proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science required; Biology or Microbiology preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience in academic or commercial settings is a plus.
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopy, culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus.
• Ability to work with phase-contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, BSCs, filtration manifolds, and maintain sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples for direct microscopy.
• Read and identify fungi in spore trap and tape samples using optical microscopy.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Perform QA/QC in line with the manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
