CES is seeking a Junior Field Engineer/Inspector to support a NYCDEP Job Order Contract across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. This full-time role requires a 40-hour commitment per week for a duration of 12 months. The selected candidate will provide inspection services for multiple Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities, including associated pump stations and Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) facilities. The Junior Field Engineer/Inspector will serve as a key liaison between contractors and facility stakeholders, ensuring all construction activities comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and schedule requirements.Responsibilities:Conduct construction management and day-to-day field supervision for BWSO Job Order Contracts (JOCs)Provide full-time inspection services across mechanical, structural, HVAC, and electrical tradesParticipate in scope development, cost negotiation, and job order issuanceAttend joint scope, pre-construction, and kick-off meetingsEnsure Site-Specific Safety Work Plans are approved and coordinated with DEP EH&SCoordinate with Office Engineer to update submittal logs and review documentationConfirm required permits are obtained before mobilizationAct as the primary liaison between general contractors, subcontractors, and facility representativesMonitor construction activities for adherence to specs, quality, and safety standardsConduct technical inspections and verify daily implementation of quality measuresTrack progress against construction schedule and initiate corrective actions for delaysAssist in managing scope modifications and quantity reconciliationsPrepare daily field reports, computations, and photographic documentationConduct substantial and final inspections; issue punch lists and completion memosCollect and review all administrative close-out documentsAssist in processing partial and final paymentsPerform additional project control duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology with 3–5 years of relevant experience in building restoration, rehabilitation, or upgradingORAssociate’s degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology with 5+ years of relevant experienceFamiliarity with industry standards/specifications (NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYCDOT)Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365Preferred Qualifications:Experience managing NYC government projects and Job Order ContractsKnowledge of NYC prevailing wage applicationsFamiliarity with DOB regulations, eGordian, and NYC agency codesMid-level proficiency in AutoCADExpert user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe AcrobatOSHA-30 certificationSoft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal abilitiesExcellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesSelf-motivated and capable of working independentlyCompany Benefits:We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package to qualified candidates.
