Cooper Machinery Services in Stockdale, Alabama, is seeking a Mechanic I to disassemble, rebuild, test, and return heavy-duty engines and compressors to running condition. You will learn from experienced mechanics in a shop where safety and quality come first.

You will work with a range of tools, read drawings, and perform tests and minor maintenance, while adhering to EHS policies. The role suits those with 0–2 years of experience, a high school diploma, and a mechanical aptitude who can work

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, prints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Basic math skills, and familiarity with tools and equipment operation.
• Working knowledge of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and perform other physical tasks. Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Valid driver's license.
• A team player with mechanical aptitude and attention to detail who can work independently to engineering specifications.

Mansioni

• Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex engine and compressor equipment.
• Use a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment safely and accurately.
• Set up and run test operations following engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct risk assessments before starting work and moving materials.
• Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, and report problems or hazardous conditions right away.
• Keep your work area and the facility’s equipment and tooling clean, organized, operational, and safe.
• Complete required documentation and business training accurately and on time.
• Work closely with your team and take on additional duties as assigned.
