Job summary

Aescape in New York City is seeking a Junior Electrical & Firmware Engineer to join our hardware team and own parts of the electronics and embedded software that move and sense our robot. This hands-on, early-career role provides mentorship, ownership of subsystems, and opportunities to ship hardware used by real people.

Based in our Chelsea office, you will support schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware in C/C++, board bring-up, and test.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in analog/digital design and power electronics.
• Ability to read datasheets and justify component choices with numbers.
• Experience with embedded firmware on microcontrollers, bare-metal or RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Support schematic capture and PCB layout review for motor drive and sensing electronics.
• Develop and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ on microcontroller platforms.
• Bring up new hardware on the bench and perform cross-domain debugging.
• Build bench test setups, collect data, and analyze it to inform decisions.
• Support production test fixtures and supplier interactions.
