Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions in Yaphank, NY is seeking an Electronics Test Technician to test and troubleshoot electronic products to component level. You will read drawings, set up test equipment, and assist assemblers while ensuring quality and compliance.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in electronics, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a US government security clearance. This on-site role offers hourly compensation and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in the electronic/electrical industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (US citizens).

Responsibilities

  • Test and troubleshoot electronic products to component and sub-assembly level using schematics and procedures.
  • Read drawings and schematics to verify assemblies and test results.
  • Set up test equipment and follow documented test procedures.
  • Operate voltmeters, oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot meters, IR meters, power supplies and related tools.
  • Provide technical assistance to assemblers and suggest process improvements.
  • Document findings; maintain orderly workstation and comply with QMS procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and troubleshoot electronic products to component and sub-assembly level utilizing schematics and standard procedures
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Set up test equipment and follow test procedures
  • Use test and measurement equipment including voltmeter, oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot meter, IR meter, power supplies, milliohm meter, LCR, and other automatic and standard test equipment
  • Provide technical assistance to assemblers
  • Recommends process improvements if necessary
  • Utilizes written or visual instructions as needed
  • Provides written and/or oral communication in reference to test and troubleshooting findings
  • Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner
  • Compliance with Quality Management System procedures

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in the electronic/electrical industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to US citizens

Desired Skills:

  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics and/or diagrams
  • Safety driven individual
  • Experience with Analog and Digital power circuits
  • Self- starter with excellent communication skills
  • Some travel required. Domestic and International

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for long periods of time while performing a multitude of tests
  • Bending and kneeling to wire power equipment
  • Ability to carry approximately 35lbs of tools
Compensation Information

Base Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00 USD (Hourly)

Please note, this is the expected compensation however, ESCO Maritime Solutions considers many factors in determining compensation prior to office, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
