Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Technician I for its Plano, Texas Electrical team to support engineers with testing and equipment/lab maintenance. Travel up to 25% will be required. The role emphasizes safety, data analysis, and customer interaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates typically hold a high school diploma or GED, with entry-level opportunities available. Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Teams/Outlook and a commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Entry level – no experience required.
• MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook proficiency.
• Observe safety practices and policies to ensure personal and coworker safety.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
• Ability to use basic shop equipment and hand tools.
• Effective communication of technical information.

Responsibilities

• Set up tests, test equipment and test apparatus.
• Prepare test samples.
• Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
• Interact with customers professionally.
• Follow safety practices and OSHA standards.
• Work with engineers to complete projects within policies.
• Daily lab cleanup and maintenance; organize tools and materials.
• Attend mandatory training on products, installation methods, and safety.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment.
• Record test data per standards.
