Job summary

Intertek seeks an Engineering Technician II (Electrical) in Plano, Texas, to support engineering staff with routine testing, maintenance, and data collection. The role involves preparing test samples, operating equipment, and recording results per standards.

Opportunities to assist with test plans and method development are available. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, 1.5+ years of relevant experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1.5+ years of experience in electrical testing or related field.
• Adherence to safety practices and policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
• Ability to convey technical information effectively.
• Must be detailed-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up test samples and test equipment.
• Operate equipment and perform testing per approved test plan.
• Record test data in accordance with standards.
• Analyze test data and perform calculations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Draft test reports and assist training of entry level technicians.
• Communicate with clients regarding project inquiries and updates.
• Adapt procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
