Job summary

ERG, a research and consulting firm, seeks a junior electrical engineer to develop electrical designs for maintenance, renovations, and upgrades to buildings and power distribution systems at Naval Support Facility Indian Head, MD. The role emphasizes ownership of projects and collaboration within and beyond the design team.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, be a U.S. citizen, and able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (minimum GPA of 3.0).
• Experience with the design of energetics-related safety systems (e.g., bonding & grounding, lightning protection systems) is preferred but not required.
• Awareness and/or fluency in NFPA 70 NEC.
• Experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design packages for renovation projects including electrical design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Conduct technical reviews of design packages for UFC, electrical codes, and end-user requirements.
• Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects.
• Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package.
• Prepare technical memoranda/reports summarizing requirements or basis of design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the design team.
• Serve as a project manager and/or design manager on assigned projects.
