Job summary

Career Crunch is hiring a Junior Electrical Engineer (EIT) to join our growing MEP team in Austin, TX. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in electrical building systems design, working closely with licensed PEs on diverse projects across commercial, institutional, educational, and municipal sectors.

You will support calculations, construction documents, field observations, and multidisciplinary coordination, with a clear path toward your P.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required, or able to obtain within six months.
• 2-3 years of electrical engineering experience preferred.
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Understanding of NEC and building systems design principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design for power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform calculations and analyses under supervision of licensed engineers.
• Prepare electrical plans, load calculations, panel schedules, and construction documents.
• Support cost estimates and design alternatives.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction.
• Participate in field visits and site investigations.
