Heartline Staffing is hiring a Junior Plumbing Engineer (EIT) in Austin, Texas. Join an MEP team and develop expertise in plumbing system design under licensed engineers.

This full-time, hybrid role focuses on commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare, and institutional projects with a flexible work arrangement. You will assist with design, calculations, drawings, and code compliance for domestic water, sanitary, vent, and drainage systems, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (required)
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
• 5+ years of engineering experience required
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
• Understanding of plumbing systems and building design fundamentals
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Internship, co-op, or prior experience in MEP consulting engineering preferred
• Familiarity with IPC, UPC, and applicable building codes preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with design of domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm drainage, and specialty plumbing systems
• Perform calculations for pipe sizing, fixture counts, water demand, drainage systems, and equipment selection
• Support preparation of plumbing construction drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation
• Conduct code research and assist with applying local, state, and national plumbing codes and standards
• Collect and organize project data and evaluate design alternatives
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, and related software to prepare and update construction documents
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
• Review shop drawings, equipment submittals, and RFIs during construction
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction observations
