Job summary

Colossal Biosciences in Dallas, TX is hiring a story-driven Junior Editor to transform lab and field footage into sharp, emotionally resonant content. The role blends hands-on editing with assistant editor responsibilities, organizing and logging a continuous stream of footage and building selects and cuts that reveal the de-extinction story as it unfolds.

You will edit for social platforms, create platform-native cuts, and help shape brand-forward narratives.

Qualifications

• Foundational AE + editing skills with strong instincts for pacing and storytelling.
• Experience editing for social platforms with platform-specific formats.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus).

Responsibilities

• Build structured stringouts for field footage.
• Assemble select cutdowns highlighting key moments and emotional beats.
• Log, tag, and organize footage by content and storytelling intent.
• Create social cutdowns and platform-native edits.
• Adapt longer-form content into sharp, high-impact short-form pieces.
• Contribute to brand sizzles and exploratory edits.
• Support video shorts and formatting for multiple platforms.
• Assist with importing media and organizing raw footage.
• Maintain clean project structures and asset libraries.
• Help manage and organize the internal video library for reuse.
• Assist with basic audio editing, synchronization, and cleanup.
• Source music and support light sound design when needed.
• Perform basic color correction to ensure visual consistency.
