Job description

Ulla Johnson is seeking a highly motivated Junior Ecommerce Assistant to support the ecommerce organization across its three core pillars — Onsite/Site Merchandising, Operations, and Digital Marketing. Reporting to the Director of Ecommerce, with close functional partnership to the Senior Manager of Operations and the Director of Digital Marketing, this person will be the connective tissue across the digital team, picking up recurring and ad hoc tasks wherever the business needs support. This is a foundational, high-learning role, ideal for someone early in their ecommerce career who wants broad exposure across merchandising, operations, and marketing.

Responsibilities-
Onsite & Site Merchandising Support (partnering with Director, Ecommerce)
  • Maintain product detail pages, including image swaps, copy updates, and tagging.
  • Build and maintain collection pages, ensuring items are correctly merchandised.
  • Support seasonal sale and trunk show prep — sourcing imagery, copy, and page updates for products lacking assets.
  • Maintain ad and email links on-site to ensure campaigns land on the correct pages.
  • Run recurring site sweeps across product categories to catch content or merchandising gaps before they reach the customer.
  • Execute ad hoc site updates as requested by design and merchandising leadership, and support note-taking on related calls.
Operations Support (partnering with Senior Manager, Operations)
  • Manage day-to-day order maintenance, including fulfillment switching, cancellations, and open order audits.
  • Process return approvals and rejections, and help maintain visibility into pending returns.
  • Support preorder management, including toggling live status and updating dates.
  • Maintain and advise the customer service escalation sheet, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved.
Digital Marketing Support (partnering with Director, Digital Marketing)
  • Execute email and SMS campaign links and setup in Klaviyo, and QA content, copy, and links prior to send.
  • Schedule email and SMS sends according to the marketing calendar.
  • Create and manage tickets for email, SMS, and ad hoc paid media asset requests.
  • Set up seasonal launch decks and imagery in Figma.
  • Organize and prepare final creative and copy for stakeholder review and approval.
  • Upload imagery and product information into shoot request documentation and support trigger flow content updates.
Overall Ecommerce Support
  • Take on ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the Director of Ecommerce, Senior Manager of Operations, or Director of Digital Marketing.
  • Prioritize competing requests across the three functions based on urgency and business need, escalating or flagging capacity conflicts to the relevant manager when priorities are unclear.
  • Build fluency across the ecommerce tech stack — site CMS, order management, CRM/marketing platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Proactively flag issues, gaps, or errors across the site, orders, or campaigns.
  • Keep a running log of open and completed tasks so work stays visible across all three teams.
  • Provide reporting and administrative support as needed across all three functions.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in ecommerce, retail, or digital marketing (internships count).
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn — brings a positive, can-do attitude to every task.
  • True team player who doesn't shy away from new or unfamiliar work; open-minded and adaptable.
  • Fast-moving but diligent — able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to juggle daily, weekly, and seasonal tasks across multiple teams.
  • Comfortable taking direction from multiple stakeholders and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Strong context-switcher — able to move between unrelated tasks (e.g., a site fix, an order issue, an email QA) across the same day without losing accuracy on any of them.
  • Clear, proactive written and verbal communicator — comfortable flagging status, blockers, or competing priorities to three different managers rather than guessing.
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and general office/collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
  • Familiarity with ecommerce systems and platforms is a plus, though not required — training will be provided. Bonus experience with Shopify, KWI, RLM, Loop, Nosto, Hotjar, or marketing/CRM suites (e.g., Klaviyo).
  • General understanding of ecommerce metrics (e.g., conversion rate, AOV, CAC) is a plus.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment; this role has no direct reports.

Salary Range: $63000.00- $70,000.00

Born and raised in Manhattan, the daughter of archaeologists, Ulla Johnson honed her signature style between the streets of New York and the far-flung destinations of their family travels. Her eponymous line, founded in 1998 just after her graduation from university, immediately caught the attention of the fashion press. Growing from a handful of directional boutiques and with an early endorsement from Barneys New York, Ulla Johnson’s collection has gained a dedicated following and the support of retailers across the US, Europe, Australia, and Asia. She has never wavered on her steadfast attention to the details of construction that have become her hallmark, basing each of her collections on a foundation of natural fibers, beautiful finishing, and ease of fit and form. Ulla lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children.
