Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Junior Distribution Systems Engineer to support the BIM contract. The role requires traveling 75–100% with on-site work at times, and support across Air Force bases globally.

Responsibilities include assisting senior engineers, installing equipment, and performing basic testing. A Secret clearance and a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field or 2+ years of related experience.
• Security Clearance Level: Secret (must currently possess and able to obtain)
• US Citizenship Required: Yes

Responsibilities

• Assist senior field engineers in troubleshooting problems and following established procedures.
• Support basic installation of equipment and infrastructure for the BIM contract.
• Help install new or upgraded technologies under guidance of experienced team members.
• Assist with end-to-end testing of fiber optic cables using OTDRs and power meters.
• Document findings and report issues affecting project progress to senior staff.
• Coordinate site access and schedule alignment with Government Points of Contact as directed.
