Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Hawaii seeks a Junior Distribution Systems Engineer to support the BIM contract onsite at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. Resident in the Honolulu area is required for daily onsite support; no travel pay.

Responsibilities include basic installation of network equipment, cabling, and documentation; assist with new technologies under guidance; coordinate with Government POCs and assist the project manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 2+ years related experience.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Security+ CE certification.
• Familiar with ISP/OSP design and implementation documents.

Responsibilities

• Support basic installation of equipment and infrastructure for the BIM contract, including rack and stack of network gear and cabling.
• Assist with installing new or upgraded technologies under supervision.
• Document field findings and communicate issues to senior staff.
• Assist with equipment assessments and provide preliminary observations for design reviews.
• Participate in training to learn product features and provide basic customer information when needed.
• Maintain positive customer interactions and ensure proper use of equipment.
• Follow instructions and escalate concerns to senior engineers as needed.
• Communicate daily with team to support timelines and goals.
• Coordinate site access, equipment readiness, and scheduling with Government POCs.
• Support project manager with basic stakeholder communications.
• Provide technical input for ISP/OSP activities and design recommendations.
• Work as part of small implementation teams.
