Job summary

Northern Motors, part of the Doswell Operating Group, is hiring an Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Virginia. This role supports inspection, maintenance, and light repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment.

You will use mechanical aptitude to diagnose issues, assist with parts replacement, and ensure safety standards are followed in daily tasks. A high school diploma or GED is required, with trade school preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset encouraged.
• Prior automotive or fleet maintenance experience preferred.
• State Inspector License is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements (lift up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Carry out medium and heavy-duty vehicle alignments.
• Perform entry-level repairs and assist with diagnosing problems.
• Replace/repair parts and test adjustments.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with safety standards.
