Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) seeks a Design Engineer I with a mechanical engineering degree to perform design, manufacture, assembly, test, installation and servicing of HVSD products. This onsite role reports to the HVSD Design Engineering Manager in Warrendale, PA.

The role emphasizes BOMs, drawings, purchasing specs, vendor qualification, and customer design options. Collaboration across HVSD and other departments is encouraged to drive improvements and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of design engineering experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of circuit breaker technology, design and power transmission.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills for customers, employees and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Support design, manufacture and assembly of HVSD products.
• Develop, prepare and maintain BOMs and design drawings.
• Create purchasing specifications and participate in vendor qualification.
• Review customer specs and deliver technical presentations.
