Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Junior Database Administrator to support reliability and security of enterprise databases. Under guidance of senior staff, you will monitor health, perform backups, and assist with patches in a regulated government environment.

You will work with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, implement security controls, and document configurations to ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
0–3 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
Experience with relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Foundational understanding of database normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
Familiarity with security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
Active SECRET security clearance and ability to maintain clearance; DoD IAT-II certification preferred.
U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel <10% of the time.

Responsibilities

Assist day-to-day administration of relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Monitor database health and performance; identify bottlenecks and elevate complex issues.
Execute backups/restores; support disaster recovery testing and procedures.
Implement standard security controls such as provisioning, RBAC, and auditing.
Participate in installation, patching, and minor upgrades across environments.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and support changes for deployments; document procedures.
