Overview

• The Data Privacy practice advises technology, AI, life sciences, fintech, consumer products, and software companies at all stages of growth.
• Advise clients on a broad range of privacy, cybersecurity, and AI issues, including product counseling, product launches, commercial agreements, and regulatory readiness.
• Counsel clients on compliance with key privacy and security laws, such as CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, COPPA, BIPA, the New York SHIELD Act, and the NYDFS Cybersecurity Regulation, with particular attention to New York-specific regulatory developments.
• Draft and negotiate diverse privacy documentation, including privacy policies, data processing agreements, data sharing arrangements, consent language, and related commercial terms.
• Manage privacy and data security aspects of venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, which includes supervising junior associates on diligence and deal support.
• Contribute to internal knowledge management by maintaining the Data Privacy group’s knowledge base and forms, and assisting with training and mentoring junior associates.
• Requires a demonstrated track record advising startup, growth-stage, and venture capital-backed clients.
• Requires significant previous large law firm experience, including substantive experience managing matters independently.
