Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join its DSCM program, supporting the CEDN data platform in Beltsville, MD or Washington DC with occasional telework. You will help onboard data sources, build and maintain data pipelines, and ensure data quality for secured and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience; four extra years may substitute for a degree.
• Familiarity with JSON, CSV, XML and API-delivered data.
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL.
• U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding new cybersecurity systems and data sources into the CEDN environment.
• Identify source data, formats, schemas, volumes, retention needs and downstream use cases.
• Configure and maintain Cribl pipelines for data collection, routing and enrichment.
• Develop Python, SQL and scripting solutions to automate ingestion, transformation and validation.
• Map data into standardized schemas and security data models.
• Conduct data-quality checks for completeness, accuracy and timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot ingestion failures, schema changes and pipeline errors.
• Support integrations with Splunk Cloud, ServiceNow, Power BI and Tableau.
