Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; 1–2 years of experience, or 4+ years substituting for a degree.
• Foundational experience with data engineering, data integration, ETL/ELT, or log-management tech.
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with JSON, CSV, XML, syslog, or API-delivered data.
• Understanding of databases, data lakes, pipelines, schemas, metadata, and data lifecycle concepts.
• Basic cloud computing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new cybersecurity systems and data sources into the CEDN environment.
• Collaborate with system owners, analysts, architects, and engineers to identify data sources, formats, schemas, volumes, retention, and downstream use cases.
• Configure and maintain Cribl pipelines for data collection, routing, parsing, transformation, enrichment, and filtering.
• Develop and maintain Databricks data pipelines for Delta Lake layers.
• Develop Python, SQL, and scripting solutions to automate ingestion, transformation, validation, and reporting.
• Map data into standardized schemas and security data models.
• Perform data-quality checks for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and delivery to downstream systems.
• Troubleshoot ingestion failures, schema changes, and pipeline issues.
• Support integrations with Splunk Cloud, ServiceNow, Power BI, Tableau, and other platforms.
• Apply metadata, access controls, and data-handing requirements for both classified and unclassified environments.
• Monitor pipeline health, throughput, storage, and processing performance; identify optimization opportunities.
• Create onboarding checklists, data-flow diagrams, interface docs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in testing and validation before new data sources go to production.
• Work within change-management, configuration-management, security authorization, and SDLC processes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to translate needs into reliable data products.
• Provide knowledge transfer and basic technical guidance to data owners and platform users.
