Job summary

STN Incorporated in Marshfield, MO is seeking a Junior Network Administrator to join its data center operations team. This on-site role supports production networks, including rack-and-stack, cabling, and hardware upkeep under senior engineers.

You will handle patching, documentation, and performance monitoring in a live data center environment. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a data center or NOC setting, familiarity with OSI, Ethernet, VLANs, and basic IP concepts, and comfort with DCIM

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a data center, NOC, or network infra role.
• Strong OSI model, Ethernet, VLANs, IP networking understanding.
• Comfort in data center environments and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read network diagrams and floor plans; structured cabling experience.
• Familiarity with CLI in Cisco/Arista/Cumulus environments.
• Preferred: Network+/CCNA certification or in progress; experience with DCIM/ticketing tools.

Responsibilities

• Rack, stack, and cable network equipment per data center standards.
• Terminate and test copper and fiber cabling with LC/SC/MPO connectors.
• Perform hardware replacements on switches, transceivers, and line cards.
• Maintain physical layer documentation and inventory using DCIM tools.
• Support structured cabling projects and cabling management in cabinets.
• Process change tickets for patching, decommissions, and circuit provisioning.
• Monitor hardware health via console and out-of-band management and troubleshoot anomalies.
• Walk data center floor to inspect equipment status and environmental conditions.
• Assist with cross-connects and MMR work; coordinate with carriers for turn-ups.
• Support OTDR, light meter, and fiber/copper validation tests; follow change management.
