Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Junior Cyber Incident Analyst - Notification Specialist for our Federal Strategic Cyber program. This on-site role is located in Arlington, VA. You will monitor multiple data sources to identify incidents, map attacker behaviors using MITRE ATT&CK, and coordinate triage with analysis and detection teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience.
• An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Notification Specialist monitoring and reviewing multiple data sources to identify cybersecurity incidents.
• Provide classified and unclassified cyber risk briefings and activity updates to civilian government agencies and stakeholders.
• Manage incident triage and coordination to identify and analyze impacts to IT assets and network infrastructure.
• Map observed adversary behaviors using MITRE ATT&CK during incident triage and analysis.
• Conduct on-site IP triage using WHOIS, ARIN/RIPE/APNIC, passive DNS, and OSINT tools to support attribution.
• Organize, support, and manage containment, investigation, and remediation efforts.
• Perform quality assurance of targeted notifications ticket actions and submissions.
• Monitor and catalog targeted notification emails; submit tickets to keep triage console clear.
• Support incident response engagements and coordinate with external organizations and leadership.
• Interface with stakeholders using excellent verbal and written communication skills.
